Permanent Telephone Connection

Own Your Telephone (OYT) Category

Applications are registered under OYT, on payment of initial deposit of Rs 8000/- ,Rs 10,000/- or Rs 15,000/- depending upon the capacity of the exchange system. The deposits carry an interest for the period from the date of payment to the date of installation of telephone at the rate payable by the State Bank of India on Fixed Deposit for one year. Deposit amount may vary from time to time.

Under the OYT category, there are two schemes:

OYT General Scheme

	This scheme is open to all.
	Applications with an advance OYT deposit as applicable to the area are eligible.

OYT Special Scheme

The following types of applicants are eligible for registration under this category,

	Government Departments
	Statutory Bodies
	Foreign Exchange Earners
	Public & Joint Sector Undertakings (Government interest is more than 50%)
	Retired Officials (& Officials on voluntary retirement after 20 years of service) of Public & Joint Sector Undertakings, whose basic pay (for one year prior to retirement) is not less than Rs 2,000/- p.m.(old pay scale as on July 1976)
	LPG Dealers
	Private hotels
	Schools and Colleges
	Cinema Halls

The deposit for registration under OYT Special Scheme is same as that under OYT General Scheme.
