  Call Redirection / Call Transfer

A Subscriber can transfer his call to another Inet address under the condition desired by him. The transfer address and condition of transfer shall be programmed in the network and will not be modifiable by the subscriber.

The condition of transfer are:

Transfer if all Incoming Channels busy,
                Transfer if all Channels faulty,
                Transfer if faulty or busy,
                Systematic Transfer (All calls).

Notification of call transfer: When an incoming call packet originates from rerouting, this fact is signaled to the final addressee along with the address of the subscriber who requested the transfer.

e.g. Party A calls Party B. Party B has requested for a call transfer to C in case it is faulty or busy. If it is so, Party C receives the call originated from A . In case C has asked for Notification of call transfer, it also receives the information that the call was actually meant for B. Party C sends a call accept to A. In case A has Notification of call transfer, it receives the information that the call has been accepted by C and not B whom it had actually called.

  Hunt Group

A subscriber with a number of Inet connections can have a single number and call may be directed to any one of the available connections.

  Network User Identification

Each Dialup subscriber has a Network User Identification (NUI) (Password) which allows him to call up on his Inet connection from anywhere. Inet Phase II allows a subscriber to change his NUI as and when required.

  Flow Control Parameter Negotiation

Flow Control Parameters are :

Maximum size of the DATA packets
                  Logical Channel Window size

These parameters can be negotiated between a Data Terminal and the network on per-call basis if this facility has been subscribed to. If this facility is not present, default values of these parameters in both the directions of transmission are used.

  Restriction List

This is one of the most useful facilities in Inet. Inet Phase II offers subscribers the flexibility to restrict calls to particular numbers e.g.

Restricted to call numbers starting with 0 or International numbers and also restrictions to receive calls from particular numbers.
